President Trump believes Apple could manufacture iPhones in the U.S., according to Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt
iPhones will be cheaper in India
Apple had accelerated the shipment of iPhones to avoid the new duty (tariff). In March 2025, the company used five cargo planes to send iPhones from its production centers in India and China to the US.
The move was aimed at avoiding the new 10% tariff that will come into effect from April 5, 2025. Through this process, Apple has secured sufficient stock in its US stores for sales for several months, so that the new tariff does not have an immediate effect.
Apart from this, Apple is also considering shifting its production from China to other countries, such as India, so that the impact of the new tariff can be reduced.
